My husband served in the NAVY for 5 years, my Uncle retired from the Airforce, and my grandfather served in the Army for several years. I am so proud of them for that. I have such respect for our military & their families so I have decided to offer a 20% discount for active military and 10% discount for inactive/ retired military on any of my packages.
I so appreciate repeat clients and the families that hire me for several different types of occasions. I will now offer a 10% discount for these wonderful people (excludes "Bundle of Joy" & "Baby's First Year" pkgs b/c those discounts are already figured into each session), It is because of my incredible clients that I am growing more & more successful each year & expanding my business. Thank you!
I have had so many requests for maternity pkgs to be bundled with photos every 3 months for their baby's first year. It only seems natural to do so. I am adding a pkg just for this called "Bundle of Joy". For those families that only wish to have the first yr photos every 3 months, I have a new pkg called "Baby's First Year."
I have akso had many brides ask about "Trash the Dress" sessions. I wil be adding that to my Wedding Photography options along with "Just for Fun" sessions. This will be a very laid back, fun session just for the Bride & Groom. Choose a day (the day after the wedding, the weekend you get back from your honeymoon, or for an anniversary for example). Bring out the wedding dress & tux for a day of fun, romatic, candid photos. This is alot less formal and focused 100% on the couple without the distractions of a wedding. We can take our time at a beautiful outdoor location of your choice. This is becoming very popular in the industry of wedding photography. Brides & Grooms are demanding this type of additional session and so I will be offering that to my brides.
January 1, 2012/ Changes for 2012: As my life gets more and more hectic, as my business grows, and as my family time is shrinking by the minute, I have decided to make some changes to how I run my business. I know that change is not easy & it will upset some, but I have to be sure to balance my family life with my photography business and I'm sure that everyone can understand & appreciate that. Please take a minute to see the changes listed below. These changes will also be reflected in my updated contracts.
-I will no longer be conducting business of any kind on Sundays or Mondays. This includes, business related phone calls, emails, photo sessions, orders or deliveries. The only exception will be when I set up "Senior" or "Family" Photo Days at a specific location and book several time slots for that day. I will post these dates on this blog and on Facebook.
-There will now be "Pick-up" dates once a week to reduce the excess time I am spending away from my husband and children driving to multiple locations everynight. I will call or email you to let you know when your photos are in and when the "pick-up" dates are. If you will please call me or email back to let me know which date you prefer. You may pick your photos up at my home (379 N. County RD. 600 W Richland, IN 47634) I will mail your order to you if you are unable to pick them up. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
-I will be "Going Green" in 2011 and eliminating paper contracts and receipts. I will now be sending electronic invoices via email, as well as all contracts and paperwork.
-I will only be placing FINAL ORDERS on Fridays of each week. If you need your FINAL ORDERS placed before those dates and need them back asap, there will be a $50 over-night shipping fee. (This is how much it costs me to have them delivered from the lab to me, and then over-nighted via FED-EX to you)
Jan. 6, 2012/ Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012!!: This past year has been full of excitement & surprise. I shot 14 weddings, & dozens of maternity, seniors from SSHS & HHHS, & engagement sessions in between. My 4 dates for fall family sessions booked solid within a couple of days after posting them on FACEBOOK. I actually was disappointed to turn a few families away, but luckily I have a friend who is wonderful to refer them to. I photographed over 45 familes this fall.
I was able to complete a goal of mine that had been in the making for quite some time. I was able to open a mini studio in Newburgh on Oct. 1, 2011. I never expected it to take off as quickly as it did. Although it was a wonderful surprise, I found myself overwhelmed. In November, I was completely booked for Christmas sessions for many full days. & 1 day in December I photographed 37 families in the studio for the holidays. In addition to Christmas photos, I also shot 4 engagement sessions, 1 wedding, a company Christmas party for Insight Communications, 3 senior sessions, 3 toddler birthday sessions, 2 maternity sessions, 1 milestones session for a 3 month old, & 1 newborn session, Yikes! My poor family barely saw me from November until Christmas between shooting, editing, & placing orders. I am still trying to get my head back on straight, so-to-speak.
My baby girl turned 1 this past May & my oldest will be 10 in just a few days! My how time flies. I gained a nephew this past year, Ayden Matthew, He is THE sweetest boy! And another goal we reached is that I am now able to stay home to raise our children.
So onto 2012 for us. Ready or not, here we come! I already have 11 weddings on the books for this year & 3 for next year! I believe this is going to be THE busiest, most successful year for M. P. yet! Bring it on!
